The Good Life

Here at the home of the Ransom cat family, our cats live a life as close to ideal as possible.  All of our female breeding cats live in our home as part of the family.  The males have a large heated/cooled building separate from the females.  They have free access to the large, secure area during the day.  Their building has a tree and hanging beds. Every cat is loved and treated with respect.

 

All the cats, including kittens, are fed a home made raw diet of chopped chicken and beef, organ meat and ground bones as well as supplements like B complex and taurine.  A balanced raw diet is essential for good health and longevity.

The adult cats have free access to a large outside area with trees to climb, toys to play on and birds to chase.  The area has been secured with well designed fencing and electric wire to keep the Maine Coons in and the feral cats and raccoons out. 

The kittens are not allowed outside in the yard.  Most people want inside only cats and allowing the kittens outside creates bad habits for their new family to deal with.

The kittens are raised inside our home with constant human interaction as well as contact with our dogs Millie(Chihuahua) and Gus(Rottweiler).
